Obesity is not just from a lack of physical activity, it is also created in the kitchen, research shows “Over 75% of students did not eat the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables. Conversely, over one-third consumed at least one can or bottle of soda per day.” (Barkin) Diet is the most important factor in having a healthy physical appearance. The saying “you are what you eat,” should definitely be taken into consideration more often by millennials. By not eating the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables per day, millennials are not giving themselves a sufficient amount of micronutrients needed not only to look healthy on the outside, but be legitimately healthy on the inside too. On top of the lack of consumption of micronutrients, a third of millennials are consuming at least one bottle of soda every day. This is worse than not receiving enough nutrients because soda is filled with sugar and other chemicals that will make your overall physical health worse. In conclusion, millennials today have worse physical health than Generation X.
